Children’s Art Reimagined at Branku Brančotava | with Laura Juhņēviča

Do you also have a growing collection of your child’s drawings at home that you don’t want to hide away in a drawer or throw out? You want to keep them and put them on display so your child can feel proud of what they’ve created – while also turning them into something that fits beautifully into your home.

In this workshop, we’ll give children’s drawings a new life and transform them into one unique piece of art on canvas that you can take home and hang on your wall.

Each family will bring a selection of their child’s drawings from home, and then we’ll dive into creating one larger artwork together!

Together with Laura Juhņēviča, we’ll look at the drawings from a new perspective – choosing the most interesting characters, shapes, colours and details, cutting them out, finding connections between them and creating a composition on a 50 × 60 cm canvas.

Laura will share tips on how to build a composition and bring seemingly very different drawings together into one cohesive piece. She’ll encourage us to experiment, be bold with unexpected combinations and feel free and confident in the world of art – there is no single “right” way to do it.

Once the composition is ready, we’ll glue the cut-out drawings onto the canvas and seal them with decoupage glue to secure everything and create a finished, cohesive piece.

In the end, each family will create a one-of-a-kind artwork whose true artist is still the child and their imagination – only this time, all those little drawings will come together in one larger piece.

Important! Please bring your child’s drawings that you are happy to cut up and transform into a new piece of art.

The new artwork will be created entirely from your child’s existing drawings – we won’t be adding any new drawings during the workshop.
